Maybe Taxi? Nobody on it was rich and worked all the time. Jim (Christopher Lloyd) was a burnout and Latka was a foreigner who married another foreigner.

Mary Tyler Moore was pretty realistic - they were in the news but not the main news so they weren’t rich which was a running joke. They also didn’t go full “message” like they would today - even Mary didn’t want it to be some super strong feminist message and that was used as a joke from time to time. If that was made today it would be awful and full of WOMEN ARE BETTER THAN MEN!!! when the show was about them working together and not all men Vs women.
