Probably insufferable but to a lesser extent, since social media hadn't arrived to fully break his brain and allow his narcissism to flourish back then. Based on that piece of writing he did for the yearbook (the stuff about Y2K), a guy with 2-3 other male friends who was invisible to most people. Ignored by girls, probably ignored by bullies. I can see him making snarky comments to the teacher and getting no laughs.
