"World Traveler" Joe once he's back home is going to rule. Like I said in another thread, he will bring up his travels constantly, especially around baby bro who never bothered to visit Europe even while making millions a year with tons of vacation timeWait till he's back and he endlessly refers to the cruise gig as a "world/European tour" without any shame.
"Actually, Ant, in Europe....""World Traveler" Joe once he's back home is going to rule. Like I said in another thread, he will bring up his travels constantly, especially around baby bro who never bothered to visit Europe even while making millions a year with tons of vacation time
Honestly, good for Joe for putting himself out there and getting outside the U.S. and earning some scratch. Genuinely
You should feel good about it, it's fun.The fact that a pack of millennials have bullied an elderly cruise musician to the point he has to disable comments when uploading videos of his performances to YouTube is surreal and I don't 100% know how to feel about it.
HAve you been? You've GOTTA go at least once in your life."Actually, Ant, in Europe...."
"Actually, the Europeans do it THIS way..."
"Actually, in Europe you use your LEFT hand with the salad fork, Ant..."
I guess I have respect for him for realizing he needed to get a job and going about finding one. I lose all of that respect when he drones on about how he's a guest act .... gets treated like royalty and how this is some opportunity. I remember getting out of college and looking for jobs, everyone got one of those brochures that promised an exciting job on the high seas or lucrative teaching positions in Japan. Anyone who did take those gigs quit as soon as they could afford airfare home. They pay was shit and the jobs were pretty awful. The very few who stuck them out for 1 or 2 years came back home and had to live with their parents until they could find an entry level job 2 years behind all of their friends"World Traveler" Joe once he's back home is going to rule. Are there cruises that cater specifically to black people?I hope his next contract is on the Freewinds.
Id love for someone to as him to turn in down a bit. He would be seething and make an angry facebook post about it.Live music in the background is ALWAYS enraging. Stick a cd on for atmosphere. The stop start nature of a old fella on a guitar is horrendous

Why would I know anything about black cruises? Are you just trying to make me forget how stupid you are?I didn't expect you to get that one, we already know how inexperienced you are. Wanna try again?
He's posted a few times about how not many people are going to the area he is in and how he's trying to get in the main entertainment areas. That's because nobody particularly wants to have their conversation drowned out and if they want entertaining there are bigger gigs to go toId love for someone to as him to turn in down a bit. See what I did there? I was ignorant on the subject of cruises for black people, what I did was google it, took me 2 seconds and now I know more than I will ever need to know about black people cruises. Living in the future is pretty damn cool.I didn't expect you to get that one, we already know how inexperienced you are. Wanna try again?
He is also probably playing the same playlist so after a few days, they are hearing the same songs and he loses any interest form the passengers. He's posted a few times about how not many people are going to the area he is in and how he's trying to get in the main entertainment areas. This cruise has full on shows in their big rooms, they are trying to be like a vegas casino. It seems what Joe was hired to do is make a little noise in lobbies where people are waiting for dinners or the entertainment they paid for. Based on the photos I saw, none of the entertainers on the entire ship are required to wear name tags. He's posted a few times about how not many people are going to the area he is in and how he's trying to get in the main entertainment areas. This is what I believe happened. Joe, increasingly desperate for income, Googled "jobs playing guitar", and landed on some website for a company that does staffing for low-end resorts and cruises. After paying a fee and sending them his guitar playing footage, they signed him up, and assigned him to the first opening they had available. Meanwhile, Joe was telling anyone who'd listen all about how he'd been hired as a performer by a big-time cruise line, and he'd be the star attraction, like he was David Copperfield or something. He imagined luxury suites, packed houses, late nights in the casino, and the royal star treatment. This cruise has full on shows in their big rooms, they are trying to be like a vegas casino. A side note, he would be making more money and living much better if he had gotten hired as a blackjack dealer. At least he would know exactly where he needed to go every dayThen he boarded that creaky old tub and discovered he was essentially a temp worker. He's trying to put on a brave face and pretend it's something else, but he's just the hired help, on the same level as the cooks, towel boys, and blackjack dealers. And now he's stuck there, as he can't afford to just leave, and can't face the mockery he'd face if he did.
Do you have beef with Brotha Joe, or were you two chummy back when you were spending nights at his brother's home, etc.?I hope his next contract is on the Freewinds.
