I do like some of his movies. But I also saw the trailer for his new one and I audibly groaned when I saw he had all of his “regulars” doing that overly stylized, unnatural dialogue and chewing the scenery.

He’s reached the point where his stuff is just an homage to his past.
Owen Wilson's nose is disgusting 🫣 how the fuck was he even in film? , child?

Yes I feel like That was what Willis did to Kevin Smith on copout. Not even fir any reason just not wanting to have a guy like Kevin calling the shots and trying to AMOG. Which is basically why guys like Hackman and James Caan couldn't get work. Nobody wanted to put up with their shit
Kevin Smith wouldn't have been able to work as a director of soft core cable porn if (((Harvey Winestine))) didn't run hollywood 🤔

I remember reading about that. I don't think Gene (RIP) was scared, but Murray isn't at all the very sensitive, neurotic type that Wes and maybe others on set were. I think Gene was instinctively bullying delicate flower Wes and preventing him from doing his job properly.
I remember watching a whole press event for that later film with Bruce Willis, and Wes was a muttering, drugged up mess. I thought, yeah, the bullying makes more sense now.
What I heard was that Hackman wanted an easy gig so he took on a comedy, not realizing that Anderson was a perfectionist.
