Wes Anderson Hate Thread

I got him and Paul Thomas Anderson mixed up. Just looked up Wes Anderson and realized I haven't seen any of his films, but saw the trailers and for a few of them and they looked annoying and gay. I also knew a stereotypical soy cuck faggot (whatever term you wanna use -- redditor) who was a huge fan.

I liked the Royal Tennembaums when I saw it years ago (Gene Hackman is a legend) haven’t seen it since. A few years later I tried to watch some movie he made set on a train with Adrian Brody and OwenWilson.
I made it through 25,minutes pretentious bullshit.

He seems like he’s trying to hard to be quirky and original it too on the nose. It’s like the worm trying to be edgy. It’s the same reason I can’t watch any new Tarrentino movies.

I liked him up to a point, then it felt like he kept making the same movie over and over.

Also he ripped off Peter Greenaway and Agnes Varda who are much more interesting

He's closer to Greenway than Varda. Varda actually talked about real things and tried to display them in a documentary-style way (even if it was mostly about twatty shit like womens issues, etc). Greenway - as with Kubrick - was a manneristic filmmaker, and was more akin to showing images that would tell the story, although there certainly WAS a story to follow along with.

Anderson and Greenway are certainly great filmmakers, and you can argue about whom edges out whom; they just have little-to-no interest in telling you anything about anyone real.
