All that bullshit about how much Uncle Guitar meant to him was just a cover story, for if and when the remaining family discovers the missing guitars. Nothing was stopping Joe from learning guitar repair while his uncle was still alive, but that would involve work, and, as we know, Joe is a bum who shuns work.

I’ve assumed he was standing around with his patented blank stare and chain button up shirt. Then with 0 tact or skill asks the direct relatives what they’re doing with his leftover guitars. When they responded in their grief with “we’re not sure”, JoeH immediately left and started grabbing. “I thought you said you were throwing them away so I figured I would take them. Save you guys some trouble in your grief. No charge, you’re famiglia”.

Joe is a guinea-trash petty criminal with no conscience, no character, no morals, no integrity, and no honor. Even if he obtained those crappy old guitars legitimately, Joe is in a huge rush to cash in on his dead uncle's name and reputation, all so he can fund his pathetic layabout bum lifestyle for another month or two. It's pure scumbaggery. His first impulse was to mooch off his dead uncle's name by pretending he was a guitar repair wizard too, but obviously that didn't work, so now he's selling whatever his dead uncle had lying around in his now-vacated shop. Everything's an opportunity for Joe to avoid work, responsibility, or both.
