1st off, if you live in a place like Scotland where you can go to jail for saying the kinda shit I say on here every other day, plausible deniability is useful.

aside from that the main benefit of online anonymity for most people is an extra layer of protection for online financial shit. I got my bank acct hacked a while back (some guy buying dresses for 70 quid a pop using my bank details) and that's the main reason I got it, haven't had an issue since.

I use stube next on my Nvidia Shield and on my Chromecast in the bedroom. No ads ever, it even skips stupid sponsor segments in videos. Google it.

On my phone I run Firefox with a few extensions like ublock, YouTube audio and sponsor block.

Yes. The only issue I have is autoplay can be wonky sometimes but I just have to switch to the browser for a second and it goes.

YouTube has proven itself to be one of the most useful platforms that's been created.

10-15 years ago it was fine to use apps and programs to get around ads, but now that the devs regularly combat them makes it not worth it anymore.

So now someone will make another program and it'll work for a few months at the max and will eventually be defeated by countermeasures.

Give YouTube the $15 a month. You pay more than $15 in coffee over the course of a week.
