Are you retarded? They are demons from the Bible not aliens from another galaxy. The entire movie is about some moron preacher finding his faith again and the 'SIGNS' of God being around him. You never see the spaceships for a reason, because they aren't real, it's just demons appearing to people and everyone misinterpreting them.

The ending of the film is him throwing holy water on a demon and his house is filled with glasses of holy water that his daughter leaves around.
