After the falling out with Howard, he would then go on O&A, and lie about Howard being in a sex tape which was a total scam. Just like how Chauncey Hayden, a Stern groupie, lied about Opie's wife being in a sex tape which was also a scam.

True enough, but none of the other on air jocks got the airtime he got. He had chemistry with Howard and immense heat from the audience. The listeners fucking hated him and Howard loved it. Kind of like how everyone but Howard hated Eric the Actor. He used to do the overnight shift and would hang around waiting to get on the show when Howard would go on. He knew how to do “good radio” he revealed so much of his personal life that he sort of became a character of the show and is known for being from the Stern show and not because of his own radio career.

Around that same time they got annoyed with a guest (I think it was Courtney Love but im not sure) who was on Howard's show right before they went on O&A and they were annoyed at that guest for asking Howard questions about them. And then when they listened to the clip of this guest on Howard, Anthony pointed out how Howard was quickly trying to change the subject off of O&A, Anthony made it sound as if he changed the subject because they had dirt on him iirc.

Totally disagree. This was the biggest attack on Howard in his entire career and still has effects on his personal life. This was something that the bosses warned O&A about repeatedly when the companies merged. Howard had lawyers looking to sue O&A for harassment and all sorts of other nonsense when this first happened. Like getting restraining orders against them for his daughters and family. He also was livid for years over this. I know a few people from Sirius speculated that the real reason Opie was fired for the Roland bathroom photo was actually Stern wanting him fired over the whole 'vagina play' incident as it still upset him. And so if O&A ever crossed the line the bosses would fire them as Howard's people were running the company by then. Everyone remembers this one from both camps.

This was easily the biggest shot fired between both Stern and O&A. This hurt Stern more than his gag orders hurt O&A and probably more than even Anthony and Opie being fired by Sirius hurt. This also allegedly caused a massive rift between Howard's daughter and him and possibly another one of his daughters. O&A got involved in his personal life in a way that he never imagined could be possible by basically turning his children again him. It was also heavily rumored that Howard didn't even know that his daughter was involved in this play and that O&A were the ones who broke the news to him. Which was hilarious.

I would almost guarantee that them playing the 'vagina' play audio and ripping on Stern got under Howard's skin more than anything from anyone in his entire life. When the two companies merged Howard immediately had O&A put under another gag order and cease and desist type clause so that they could not use his audio. Ever wonder why Stern was never Jocktobered? O&A were not legally allowed to play his audio. They almost got suspended for playing audio of him talking about adopting kittens once after the merger and management and lawyers called them into the office to remind them of the rules.

Howard was always terrified of O&A. Hence the gag orders and refusing to allow CBS to put the shows head to head in any market. But this was basically something that went beyond radio battles in a way that Howard never imagined would have been possible.

It wasn't about Stern's reputation about his job really. It was that Stern's daughter got drunk and it caused every single person in the entire radio division to be put under NDAs and gag orders to be thrown about like they were involved in war crimes. It showed the extreme control freak Howard was over his career yet he didn't give a shit about any of his own daughters. O&A highlighted the hypocrisy and 'Mr. Free Speech' Stern immediately got his lawyers and the suits to start firing out cease and desist letters.

Nothing has ever made Howard look worse than his gag orders and lawyers when it comes to the radio wars and him being this edgy jock.

It just never really made sense to me. Is the play embarrassing (for her) ? Yeah. Radio material and being used as a weapon against her dad? Not really. What does it prove? That Howard is a shit broadcaster? A bad father? Not at all. It just proves his daughter was in a bad play. Howard was the faggot here for actually getting embarrassed over her doing it. Maybe she was really into the play and her faggot father tells her to stop because its hurting his reputation. Once again, Howard is always put first and the most important.

I hate to get moral but to me it was wrong. There was nothing wrong with the play and it had no connection to Stern or the radio war. The Jingle Ball thing makes slightly more sense - It showed Howard as a bad father and Howard himself was never off limits talking about what bad fathers other jocks were.
