Was Mountain Dew the only thing sustaining his sanity?

In November 2017, Pat quit drinking a liter of Mountain Dew a day like a fat Wisconsin rube. He said he was addicted to the caffeine, but it's also likely he was addicted to the mounds of fructose too. God he's fat.

Was this daily infusion of artificial caffeine and sugar grown in a lab by scientists with the agenda of making fat idiots addicted to The Dew the only thing keeping him from going off the deep end (i.e. attacking redditors)?

Please discuss and Merry Christ Day.

He's been too clever for sanity for many, many years. His brain kept telling him things that he knew he could out-smart because his mother is a retired podunk high school counselor.

He only stopped because he went to Europe. He quit a two-decade daily habit of guzzling caffeinated corn-syrup while on his honeymoon looking at death camps. He's a treat to be around.

He literally cut 500 calories per day out of his diet, 3500 calories per week. Basically 1 lb/week. He could have lost a significant amount of weight in the past 3 years if he only ate around maintenance calories, he didn't even have to work out. Many people start dieting but just cutting the sugary drinks out of their lives and kick start their weightloss. Instead it looks like he put on at least 40-60 lbs. He's just terrible at everything.

The physiology of willpower: linking blood glucose to self-control

Abstract

Past research indicates that self-control relies on some sort of limited energy source. This review suggests that blood glucose is one important part of the energy source of self-control. Acts of self-control deplete relatively large amounts of glucose. Self-control failures are more likely when glucose is low or cannot be mobilized effectively to the brain (i.e., when insulin is low or insensitive). Restoring glucose to a sufficient level typically improves self-control. Numerous self-control behaviors fit this pattern, including controlling attention, regulating emotions, quitting smoking, coping with stress, resisting impulsivity, and refraining from criminal and aggressive behavior. Alcohol reduces glucose throughout the brain and body and likewise impairs many forms of self-control. Furthermore, self-control failure is most likely during times of the day when glucose is used least effectively. Self-control thus appears highly susceptible to glucose. Self-control benefits numerous social and interpersonal processes. Glucose might therefore be related to a broad range of social behavior.

Coke, speed, meth, Adderall, Vyvanse, etc. Have destroyed caffeine for me. Bang energy drinks are the closest I've come to replicating anything close to that buzz with caffeine. I envy faggots like Pat who can genuinely drink mountain dew and get any buzz from it.
