Mike Nelson is a quiet religious and conservative family man who was head writer of MST3K and later host during its golden era. TV's Frank probably seethes every time he's gratuitously allowed to take part in their RiffTrax or live shows.

One of the funniest bits of the early Bonfire was Jay and Dan's ongoing beef with John Fugelsang.

Did they share a studio room? I remember Pig Gay Oinkerson frequently bitching about like a mug and maybe a dish with some crumbs being left in the room by the previous users like it was the Shoah

Speaking of the Bonfire, remember when they had Doug Stanhope and Yamaneegra Saunders on? Doug lobbed a softball of a question about if anyone ever regretted fucking her, probably trying to start some banter or riff but she completely shut it down, took it personally and ended up chimping out about racism or metoo. Doug ended up leaving but the Jay and Soder should have thrown that ugly unfunny nigger cunt who looks like Aughra from the Dark Crystal out instead.

There's moments on Rifftrax where some of Nelson's political beliefs bleed through with very "you have to be in the know" sorts of jokes. That being said, he never struck me as an uptight cunt about it, just very old school American conservative. And he can't be that pious, considering the harshest jokes from the Joel era through his were ALL FROM HIM.

Corbett doesn't bother me, but I don't follow any of them that close. Frank has always struck me as insufferable, though - very stuck up on his own ass, like a lot of writers. Josh Weinstein, the first Servo, isn't much better, but I blame that on him starting out as a kid.

I think when he started at KTMA with the rest of them, he was only 16. And Trace, Jim, Joel, they just couldn't put up with his attitude and energy, which is why they canned him after the first Comedy Central season.

But I give the little cunt credit - he could've collapsed and hid in his bedroom, but the lad continued and comedy and made a real Hollywood career. And even if he was a little pain in the ass, he held his own for two seasons with that crew of older guys, and honestly had a more successful career in it than Joel.

I have to say, I've never liked Joel. Yes this is his thing, but I don't find him all that funny. He's too... Hamburger. Mike is more like Pizza.

To be honest, I don't know if he's as bad as TV's Frank. Just remember some gay tweets whining about Trump. Agreed it was the best era by far and he was the better voice for the character. Never got too into Rifftrax. It's ok but can't match the peak. I think some of those writers on the Sci-Fi era that weren't the main performers probably helped punch up the jokes.

What choice did they have? She starting squealing racism and, if I'm not mistaken, was also trying to accuse everyone in the room of setting her up by having Stanhope on and knowing nothing about him, while also calling him racist. The show was (is) already on thin ice, I don't think they also wanted to be accused of being racist and having the Stanhope bit out there out of context.

It's not that Joel didn't have his moments, spinster.

But he held the movies in too high of a regard, and never wanted to hit them hard. So the shows overall were much more sanitized compared to the Mike run.

His only exceptions off memory: Manos, Monster A Go Go, Mitchell (purely because he was leaving), and maybe The Castle of Fu Manchu, which was his worst episode.

Like I said, he's a bit too good natured for my kind of comedy.
