Someone posted a video on the old forum that pretty succinctly summed up all my suspicions about that whole situation. I remember my dad at the time going on about Sony in particular being an evil company going after his shit.

And yeah he was nuttier than squirrel shit. The dad had them singing in bars and strip clubs as kids, there were probably other things he went through that would warp anybody.

I love Sabbath. I used to hate Changes but it's grown on me over time. It goes well with the rest of the insanity that is Vol. 4. Solitude is a good song, it's slow but it's not hokey or anything and Bill was the right guy to sing it.

My experience with wrestling is limited, except for two ways: buddies who landed the World of Sport videos from England, which was played VERY serious and fairly watchable, and the cartoony WWF shit that I despise.

Lol and behold, one day on the road, not long after I get a smartphone for the first time, one of those old buddies who showed me that WOS tape sent me a link to a Jim Cornette shoot video. I fucking loved the guy, and every free moment I got that night, I watched and listened to that grainy two hour video on my phone.

That's how I looked into the history of wrestling, the carny-ness of it, and it's entrenched history in America. I legit dislike wrestling - in terms of watching it, but the stories are some of the best you'll ever hear, because they are truly garbage people in that industry. And because of it, the stories are almost unbelievable. Almost.

How's this for an unpopular opinion: In WWE's canon, Shawn Michaels is the greatest wrestler ever. In truth, he's not even close to Eddie.



Anyone can watch this match, then watch a Shawn match, and there is no comparison. Shawn's offense looks weak and not believable that he could beat anyone. Eddie's offense looks unbelievable and crisp, but looks credible and painful. Shawn was only a good heel between 97-98, Eddie was always a great heel and had babyface charisma. Shawn was still hitting lameass atomic drops in the 2000s, Eddie was hitting niggas with tilt-a-whirl backbreakers and sunset flip powerbombs... and it always looked great.

Overall though, Scott Steiner doesn't get credit as the GOAT. Definitely the greatest of the last 30 years, but either got fucked over, not used properly or succumbed to injuries. Kurt Angle comes close and he was amazing, but everything he did Steiner innovated first.
