Being able to work from home all the time made me unproductive as fuck. All discipline went out the window. I'd log in at 9 knowing full well I was still going to be doing shit around the house until something emerged that I actually needed to do. I hate being bored and clockwatching at work so I'm constantly looking for something to keep me busy, but fuck doing that if I'm home. Even if i was just picking at busy work, its still something. Half hour of downtime at home turns into half hour of sitting around doing fuck all.

Making 40k from home doing a few phone calls would be pretty fucking sweet if he was supplementing it with 30k in book royalties.

That would be respectable and admirable and it’s almost certainly why he isn’t doing that. Even if he was, he’d have to pretend he was a six figure author solely for his fragile weird ego.

He isn’t though, he’s on welfare / Lynn hand outs / remaining covid fraud loans

Yup. If I had to choose between being working poor (35-40k) but remote and 80-100k in the office I'd choose the former every time. Once you start breaking into six figures things change.

I said the same thing when I got forced back to the office full time and I applied and was offered a fully remote position for 40k.

I don’t need much money, I don’t spend money - I can live in my apartment perfectly happy.

But then it sinks in, do I really want to halve my income? Do I want to be one paycheck from emergency?

It’s not worth it, being here is total fucking aids and wasting all my life driving pointlessly is soul destroying but I can’t throw away my career like that to be remote on poor wages.

I also accepted a federal worker position which was mostly hybrid, the money was good - the perks were insanely generous. The work was easy, but I still didn’t accept it. I knew I’d be miserable, I don’t want to work with those people, they are fucking insufferable. I might regret that.

In general though, it’s either shit money but fully remote and a nice free lifestyle but no money to spend or it’s soul destroying grind for good money and no time to spend it. I’m not talented enough to have both, very few are.

I have no shits to give about working from home or from the office, but the Post saying “new research indicates…” means fuck all. Who conducted the studies? What studies did they do? What is the sample size? Are there any studies that suggest otherwise? Etc etc etc.

Fat sees “new research” indicates and his pig brain automatically defers to the “science” and retweets it because it confirms his work-shy biases.

You know it’s bullshit when it’s “new research indicates” and you look closely and they asked only 10 people and turn it into “3/4ths of Americans believe…”

If I owned a company I'd never allow employees to work from home. Every person I've met that works from home abuses it. My wife worked two remote jobs simultaneously for years and still made time to walk the dog 3 or 4 times a day AND clean the house. You'd have to be the dumbest motherfucker on the planet to think that your employees are putting in just as much effort without some kind of supervisory middle management baby sitter lurking the office.

For a full year I was in my apartment out out all my senses on LSD working from my kitchen on my thinkpad.

There were entire weeks when I probably did about 8 minutes of real actual work.

It was a good time. A very good time. I’d also kill someone to never have to relive it. It’s hard to explain.

Go into any corporate office work space in the country and watch all the niggers, they roll in whenever they want, do nothing , complain and get things and laugh about it.

We have some Nigerian DEI hire who turns up randomly and quite literally just makes guttural chimp noises loudly and sexually harass all the women and nothing happens to him at all and it never will.

They’ll be a point soon when there aren’t any competent white guys left who care enough to carry the burden anymore and we just have to all become like Donald Pekeke.

Im one of the few I guess who is actually more productive at home - I don’t have distractions like other people to walk around and talk to and I’m paranoid if I even step away for a couple minutes I’ll come back to a bunch of WHERE ARE YOU?!?! SITUATION CRITICAL! emails / pings / etc. - I could never fuck off like some people can while at home. We hired a guy firm by the height of Covid so completely remote and it wasn’t until we started back in the office we realized he was a complete shit employee. He would wonder off for hours, complain about coming in even 2 days a week, was a real dick about working together. I remember he was complaining to a VP about having to come in and the VP said coming in is a better way to get to know your coworkers compared to over remote and he said something like “I don’t want to get to know any of these people - I got enough friends and I wouldn’t ever be friends with anybody here” in front of all his co workers.

He didn’t last long after that - they purposely made work life hell so he would quit (get out of paying unemployment)

I did take advantage working at home for a while, because I was in a terrible time in my life, but after that I worked super productively at home and had this utter blissful period before it was stopped by my company.

I almost wish I didn’t taste it and had always just been a mon-fri drone so I didn’t know how much better it can be.

Most people I know have been forced back now, or they pretend they won’t be but everyone else had the same hollow promises made. I’m not someone who wants others to suffer because I am, I want them to flourish even if I can’t. I hope people can keep the new way.
