I hate how every modern alien film seems to just repeat the character of Ripley and this one seems to be doing the same thing with another female lead.

My favorite film series growing up was the Mad Max trilogy.
Mad Max, like the Aliens(s) series, would be near perfect if left in their original era.
Fury Road would have been fine had they gone with the original Mel version, as it would have served as a definitive end to the series ( same basic movie, except Max ends up with Furiosa at the end and "goes up" with her ).
Now, since Fury Road is a reboot, we're getting a MCU esque "expanded universe" with it's own spin off movie, just like the multiple Alien(s) movies.
Nothing is ever left alone and gets ruined in the end. But don't forget to pick up the commemorative Funko Pop!

Guilty pleasure. It's stupid fun, Brad Dourif rules, Perlman and the weird little French cripple guy are a good comedic duo, the gambling addict from CSI is fine I guess, and Sigourney does the best she can with what she had to work with.

It was such a baffling decision. And all that so you could have the guy return in a small cameo in a completely optional flashback in the next movie, right? That sure justified putting him in terrible makeup and having him put on a crotchety old man voice. Straight out of a Jackass sketch.The elderly man makeup in Prometheus was so fucking stupid. I know this is a shocking thing to tell a director with hundreds of millions to spend, but he could've just got two actors for the different ages for a better effect and less effort.
