Pat probably set up the LLC when half of the hovel became an Airbnb and then later realized it was a waste of time, and he has to report that passive income on his individual return anyway since an LLC with only one member is a disregarded entity. Now the question is whether he'll pay the registration fees and do the paperwork to make the LLC current just to keep the idiots from winning.
