I was never a massive fan of Talking Heads but I got a book written by David Byrne called How Music Works and I gotta say, whether you like him or not, the cunt thinks about music on a level that very few others do.

One part that I always remember is about how humans always adapted to surroundings whilst evolving with music and sound the same way animals do. In the jungle, gorillas will communicate with each other in low growls because the bass travels better along the surface of the floor, whilst birds chirping is high frequency so it can cut through branches and be heard audibly further away. We have adapted like this too in terms of entertainment. When classical music was all the rage, the most ideal venues were cathedrals and spacious buildings that did the reverb work for you, whilst nowadays people perform in soundproof basements to keep the DBs inside and revel in the vibrations and physical feeling of sound itself.

There's also some decent solo shit out there.

I hate that singer's exact type of shitty voice. The Tragically Hip are a big deal around here (there's no way you know who they are) and their singer had the same kind of bad voice, but slightly better. People try to tell me it's distinct and cool and it's like, no it just sucks and it's not that distinct because he sounds just like 3 other shitty singers I can think of.
