Rocko's Modern Life was always supposed to be "transgressive", though. Trannyfrog shouldn't have come as a surprise in the least. King of the Hill was always about the upside of a conservative, family-centric lifestyle and there's no reason to assume this new one won't be. Whether it'll be funny, who the hell knows. But there's zero indication it'll be (((woke))) when nothing Judge has ever really done has been thus far.

How exactly was Rocko transgressive? I haven't watched the show in years, but don't remember it being like that. The reboot didn't seem to serve any purpose other than to bring it back to scold the fans for being too nostalgic and promote a trans agenda.

I think there is a big difference between some adult jokes and straight up turning one of your characters into a tranny and making it a major plot point

Comparatively explicit jokes for something airing next to shit like Rugrats. Out of any cartoon to have a tranny and treat it as acceptable, Rocko out of anything would have been it.

It wasn't so much of that as it was Ralph's character in the original series was pivoting toward that anyway. He was portrayed as a deeply unhappy yet successful artist that nobody understood. One of this stories ended with him spending years carving a bowl of fruit into a mountain only for a hick to ask him about his old cartoon. It's not surprising that a deeply unhappy, mentally ill person would troon out like that. Anyway Murray is a self-inserting faggot.

It is funny looking back on that era of shows along with stuff like Hey Arnold and Rocko and how many hidden adult jokes they got away with. Ren & Stimpy in particular had no business being on Nickelodeon.

I saw this video about the Wacky Delly episode of Rocko, and the narrator kept referring to "Rachel Bighead" which confused me, cause I never saw the new Rocko. The comments were full of people praising the narrator for not "deadnaming" a fucking cartoon character.
