There's never been a show that got lost up its own ass so bad. Not BB/BCS, Game of Thrones, or any other. SoA is the worst by far.
I tried watching and by episode 2 i was like, "I don't give a fuck about any of these people."

It was just a bad show.

So I don't know about the "getting lost up its own ass" but I worked in Burbank when it was on, and they had custom trucks for shooting on location and it said something like, "Sons of Anarchy, employing over 100 people locally," or some bullshit. Like, they weren't making a stupid ass show, they were making "art" that employed people. Ugh.

could breaking bad have been actually good? Or am i deluding myself and it was always doomed to be faggy tough guy shit. The first season seemed like it had potential and the scenes with him and jessie fucking up and failing were pretty funny at times.

Maybe the show got too popular and they had to make him all super cool tough genius guy.

I am the Tim Whatley in the middle who knocks.
I tapped out around season 3 and just told my friend to tell me how it ends. I despised every character and I felt like everything relied on cliff hangers too much so once you know the twist then it’s not worth rewatching it. Where people get off comparing it to The Sopranos is a disgrace.

BB isn’t as good as say, the Sopranos, but its alright. My main criticism is theres too much explosions and “awesome shit” ala the meth bomb from season 1.

I think saying Walt is a genius cool tough guy is like saying Tony Soprano was a badass tough guy role model. He’s a faggot crybaby who tries to look tough and in those scenes retarded boomers and millennials misinterpret it to actually be awesome and cool. I am the one who knocks is a perfect example. Thats not a badass line. Thats a point in the series where Walt is probably the closest to his entire family getting killed and he’s just coping out his ass. But all the fucking dummys can’t read that blatantly obvious subtext.

The first season is the best because its a lot goofier and balanced out with the darker tones like disposing of a body and shit. The last season is borderline Hollywood action shlock.

Better Call Saul is better anyway. Tee hee.

I was using BB as an example because there seems a lot of negative sentiment about it on the board, although I really like and always liked BB despite some issues here or there. BCS I'm a little more up and down on.

SoA had potential and is decently entertaining for a couple seasons but it falls off so hard and turns into complete shit for multiple seasons.

Tony was tough. He kills multiple people with his bare hands. He refuses to rat in the first season against Junior despite the hit against him. He kills his own cousin Tony B rather than let him get tortured. He runs Phil off the road just to assert his dominance. He was a psychotic thrill seeker. He wants the high of combat like Avon Barksdale or Marlo Stanfield or a US Marine. Tony just sees opportunities for violence like messing with the Vipers biker gang and nearly gets shot just for a laugh because he doesn't care if he gets killed anymore.

Tony was realistic. "Tough" guys will cry if their son tries to commit suicide. Or if they survive a gutshot wound get to see their family again. And Tony crying over horses was to show his nihilism and general hatred for the world. Tony knows that Pie-Oh-My was killed by Ralph because of him. That once something gets into Tony's world it will go to shit immediately. Toxic person. Once Tony got into the world of that horse it was cooked alive in under a year.

Tony can't even get involved in horse ownership without burning animals alive and murders being committed. Imagine living a life where literally everything you get involved with becomes a criminal enterprise including sending your kids to college, owning a house, or having hobbies.

The first season is just as dumb as any other season. Stuff like Walt beating up the 6'5" college football player who mocked his retard son. Walt burning the gas station down because the guy parked in his spot. Walt blowing up Tuco's office with fake magic meth that is powerful enough to blow out glass and knock AC units from windows......but not hurt anyone that was point blank inside of the explosion source. The only reason it wasn't constant is because the budget for the show was dirt cheap. Once they got the money for explosions and shootouts you started to see more and more over the top action sequences.

The first season was so stupid that in order to make things wackier they had to resort to completely ridiculous moments like Walt causing a plane to collide with another plane in mid air right over his house so that the debris fall into his pool. They were already done with any sense of realism or scale by the time they got to the second season. Once the plane crash happened the show went from being "science teacher becomes Scarface" to some reddit tier nerd power fantasy.

Anyone tried to listen to the behind the scenes podcast of BB/BCS?

It's 90% showrunners falling over themselves gladhanding one another and namedropping and blowing smoke up staff member's asses you wouldn't care about in a million years. It's like they actually hate their fans and want them to hold on for the 3-minute morsels of actual entertaining and pertinent commentary for da show while they grimace through these maximum 1h-1hr 20 minutes of nothing.

Of course the whole comment section is always filled with the worst oblivious ballwashing and copes going on "they're giving us this for free! isn't it great that they just do this for fun beside doing the show?"

Like yeah I'm sure Bob Odenkirk loves doing podcasts just for funsies! He seems like a guy that really is "with it" with the social media thing with his 4 posts a month, have to meet my AMC contract obligations, twitter account.

What I'm saying is I'm a fag for even knowing any of this, Vince Gilligan is an autistic bore and should hide behind the camera. Also all pocasts suck.

Worst part about BB/BCS is mike, wow an old man who is tough!!!

BCS was nearly ruined because of the focus on the character in season two
Gascap shouldn't have been an episode, a whole hour to have mike find out he was bugged.
WOW SILENT SCENES AND WIDE SHOTS ARE SO INTERESTING, fuck you.
