I can understand why people liked the Chip stuff on the show, and can maybe see why people would think it would make a good cartoon. But I can't for the life me understand why anyone, ever, would enjoy that podcast he did. With the fucking glasses and wig, a full hour of being entirely "in character." Everything about that was embarrassing and baffling.
To be honest when he invaded some studio with girls in LA that had no idea what he was doing I laughed my ass off. If I was Jim I'd kill the character right after that. It's the last good thing he did.

At THE MOST, it shouldve been a couple skits a few mins long a piece

I hated chip because he used him as a safe way to bomb. It wasn't me, it was chip. Then the character evolved to something even more annoying. The only chip lines I ever enjoyed is when someone would bomb and chip would like the bomb
Say bomb again stupid
Norton bombed enough even without Chip, but for some reason Norton gets a pass. And even when he did bomb, his boyfriend Cumia always gave him an out with some gay " OH LITTLE YIMMY IS TIRED AWWW ITS OKAY PAL "

..they were more successful than he was.

That's it. Jim hates animation because he feels it's beneath him and it drives him crazy that a show like Big Mouth can come and go and forever be more popular and entertaining than he was and still is. To him, it's just a "cartoon" and cartoons to Jim Norton are The Archies, Captain Caveman and whatever else was on in 1977.

Who is Jim's audience these days anyway? Is it leftover O&A fans? If not, where do you "find" Jim Norton? How would you hear of him anymore?
I saw one of his comedy specials in a bin at Walgreens a year or two ago

This is what Jim actually thinks high level cartoons consist of. Jim constantly copped to never watching adult oriented animation. No Family Guy, no South Park, nothing. So when he decided to do his cartoon, he figured he didn't have to work too hard on it since Family Guy & South Park are so huge. He really thought he could just fall backwards into a hugely successful animated show.

Jim is a gay man married to a full time crossdresser who does a milquetoast, paywalled radio show that nobody listens to or talks about.

If he released this in 2008, I wonder how the show would've treated it. I bet they would've hyped it like it was actually good while Jim hemmed and hawed about how network politics buried it.

This reminds me of that review someone gave The State when it premiered; "So terrible it deserves to be studied."

Not trying to sound like an asshole, just a legit question I have. Looks like he did 20 mins on Netflix 5 years ago and his last hour long special 7 years ago.

Looking at his upcoming NJ show on Nov 1st, which is 2 weeks from today, PLENTY of tickets available. Like, the entire balcony and rear orchestra. Looks like he managed to sell out Left & Right Pit, which is two rows of 6 seats each.

Norton outside of the O&A show was never in high demand. O&A in session? Jim kills. O&A gone? Jim can barely sell a hometown NJ gig.
Millville is in the middle of nowhere, and it takes forever to get there from anyplace in NJ where people actually live. That venue usually hosts old washed-up bands like Anvil when they do their tours.

Lol. I think I saw Anvil in a children's theater in Waterloo, Ontario. I respect their work ethic, I guess.
