WWAWD passing on a 1000 yard WR because his Madden rating isn't high enough

tbf at the time giving this guy $48m for 3 years was a thing only Browns or Jets were going to do, no idea how he's putting these numbers up.
They are so stupid to give video game developers actual power with their rating. Its bad enough players take it personal now they are being used for actual positions. Its the Jets fault for letting this kid get so involved at higher positions and making player moves.

I don’t care to understand this but can someone give me a quick take on this?
If you call for a fair catch, you can elect to take a free kick at the spot where it's caught. Nobody ever does it because punts are usually so far down field it'd be impossible to make a field goal.

In this case the fair catch was called, a penalty of 15 yards was assessed against the defense, and the kicker got to try for a field goal because the half was almost over and they figured why not take a shot at it. Think it was only a 57-yarder.

Field goals can be blocked and need to be snapped. Free kicks are just kicked similar to kickoffs but you're eligible to score if you can make a FG from it. It just never comes up.

You're not retarded, Harbaugh took 2 time outs because he had to digest the logic and legality of running it so the average shmo could be forgiven

A drop kick can be attempted anytime, you just have to let the ball bounce first.
Theres absolutely no practical reason to ever do this instead of a regular placekick though. Belichick just likes to do cheeky stuff because he’s a nerd like that

It was made totally obsolete when they made the ball pointy instead of more round
