Terrible movie scenes Patrick thinks are epic

At the risk of sounding like a Patrick tier faggot - I have never been as disappointed in a sequel as the 2nd Matrix movie left me feeling. I still remember the feeling of being in the theater back in 2003 and feeling the absolute wave of disappointment washing over me in the first 10 mins when I realized "Oh OK, this has clearly just been made for the money" when that terrible first fight scene happened.
This was my first exposure to what would eventually be redditors.

I explained to all of my friends that The second Matrix movie sucked a cartload of donkey dick and every one of them said that most people who didn't like it "just weren't smart enough to understand it" but of course "not you". I was the one guy who didn't like the movie who understood it was dog shit but they were both philosophy and film geniuses.

Ugh. The pretentious assholes who "understand" what the masses don't.

There was nothing to get in that movie, it was just dogshit. All the action scenes felt hollow and purely for show and the story was just idiotic. The Wachowskis faggots absolutely didn't intend for it to be a trilogy either. That was clearly something they just made up afterwards to make it seem like the sequels weren't just a cash grab.

Did anybody put themselves through that Netflix piece of shit? The fourth Matrix? I was absolutely stunned at how bad it was and I expected nothing. To this day I haven’t seen the 3rd one because I hated the second one so much. I was hoping against hope the fourth would be okay.

I watched it and yeah it was terrible. For the first 30 mins or so it was actually interesting and seemed like they might be going somewhere with it but then it just descends into a generic shitty action movie.

Nice feeling empowered by some tranny coming out story, fag. Dickless Rick (confirmed in a text exchange today) should be brave and come out himself. And that's leaving aside that the trans allegory shit was a total retcon and that the wachowski "sisters" are the picture perfect example of trannies just being pornsick perverts (they were both loyal clients of a dominatrix that got off on basically brainwashing and sissifying men). Shit's just so gross.

What on earth is he on about? 1999 was a HUGE year for the movies. Phantom Menace. Sixth Sense. Fight Club. The entire 90s teen sex comedy "era" took place in one year (American Pie, 10 Things I hate About You, She's all That). Blair Witch Project. The South Park movie.

The Matrix was HUGE, because the fucking studios screened it and went "holy shit, we need to market this". It was a very good year for Hollywood, both commercially and critically. Him pretending he stumbled into his local theater "hmmm, The Matrix? I think I'll check that one out." Phony asshole.

I went to the second Matrix for the Thursday night "midnight" release (even though our theater showed it at 9 PM). It was showing on every screen at our multiplex and the place was packed. Pretty much everyone from my school was there either in the same theater or in one of the adjacent theaters. Thirty minutes into the movie I was so incredibly bored that I remember my brain just switching off. I stopped thinking and just stared at the screen waiting for it to get better at first and then for it to just simply end so I could go home.

When it was all over most of the theater emptied out quick and I and my friends just mingled for a few minutes talking to other kids from school. We were walking out when an asshole named Nick told us that we have to stay until after the credits so we can see the trailer for the third movie. I had no interest but my ride did so I endured that. Nothing in that trailer looked interesting.

I wouldn't see the third movie until years later and never cared the entire way through; I just remember the ending sucking. My feelings towards the first movie also soured.

In college, I had a professor who played clips from all three movies as examples of stupid people acting like they understand deep philosophical teachings. Most kids rolled their eyes and laughed at the Matrix but there was always a fat little turd who would scoff and squirm in their chair trying to argue that the movies actually were deep.

All those little turds were future Fatricks.
