Hook always felt creepy to me, even as a kid. With all the rumors about Spielberg fucking little boys, I truly think the film is Spielberg confessing his sins to the world.
Not for nothin, but Spielberg's last film that had a young boy gazed at adorably by the camera as a main character (A.I. Artificial Intelligence - 2001) was made when he was 54/55 years old - around the age when most men's libido falls off a cliff.
