I was looking for shotspotter maps of MKE as well, didnt find anything useful. I'm pretty sure it's actually easy to get into jobs with some of these systems since it's not real police work, you're just doing data collection for the police. I worked with a black veteran with no real skillset who landed a cushy job reviewing city-wide CCTV and shit, he had a prior felony assault as well if I recall correctly. I'm sure you couldn't leak anything though, maybe we can get a brothaman on the ground walkin' around out there trying to spot one of these. Just make sure you go around 10am, that way the threats are all asleep.

That would explain the 1am shooting call and now a "special assignment" officer investigating the "crime scene".

A lot of times, a uniform patrol unit will take the initial report. It'll get triaged and assigned to an investigator for follow up. Most of us work normal day shifts - it keeps the OT/shift premiums down.

We're approaching 36 hours from the initial call to get moved to an investigator, which tells me this isn't a high priority for them.
