Of course it's corny. But Snoop has leveraged his status in society to becoming this weird gadfly that grandmas instantly recognize as a non-threatening rapper/weed guy.

Black enough that he still has credibility there and white enough that he's bankable for advertising. Sort of like pre-1994 OJ, but for rappers and cannabis.

And this stunt only reinforces that status, it doesn't hurt him at all.

Yeah he's the black Martha Stewart. Except that a black Martha Stewart would really be named Martha Stewart and not Martha Helen Kostyra who no doubt married some slimy Jew who stole the last name of the first goy he encountered.

I wonder if this whole silly charade translated to any sales at all. Surely its only targeted at people who are invested enough in snoop dogg to give a fuck if he smokes weed. Like, it's trying to either rattle his stoner fans who love that he smokes weed, or somehow appeal to people who don't like that he smokes. Either way "lol, jk. Just buy this shit product you dumb faggots" doesn't seem like the best marketing strategy.
