Submitting or even sharing *anything* with someone associated with a struck company will have you labeled a scab. It doesn't matter whatsoever when it was written. Nobody who works in the industry told him this was okay unless they were actually trying to get him blackballed. If he was legitimately interested in this as a career he should tell whichever "producer" supposedly has his screenplay to give it back and forget about it until the strike is over. Like I said when this first came up; he should have already had a synopsis to submit with a screenplay anyway. Whoever he's supposedly dealing with doesn't know the first thing about it so he's either being scammed or just lying. With Pat it's hard to even tell which is more likely since he lies constantly and is also the biggest rube on the planet.

No. The screenwriter should write the synopsis if they want you to read their screenplay. Without a good synopsis you're not getting a spec script read full-stop.
