Shane Gillis isn't funny

I’d argue his podcast was very funny up until they got the slightest amount of success. It’s pretty much unlistenable now and everyone in that crew except Shane has developed a massive ego.

Even though Shane isn’t as funny anymore he doesn’t seem like a douche just yet but the move to Austin and being around Rogan and Hinchcliffe so much could change that. I do find it weird that he was talking about buying a Honda Accord on a podcast recently but then bought a >$100,000 Mercedes S Class with Rogan.

His standup is fine. I think a lot of what's happened to comedy is that with the internet we don't have to wait around for da funny to show up. We can just make our own. At the end of the day I don't care if the guy making me wheeze and hold my tummy has been doing this for ten years or is some retard 14 year old with photoshop and a Ritalin prescription.

Humor isn't some magical thing that only elite cellar table guys can really create. Some of the funniest people I know are toddlers.

I don't think comedians really try to be "funny" anymore. The target generation of folks who pay for "comedy" = Gen X white males. Gen X white males don't have any male friends and are almost universally depressed. What they are really looking for is a parasocial relationship with a wealthy, witty guy who doesn't have to work a real job and can therefore bestow some variant of "wisdom" to their depressed wage-cucking hoards.

That's why all these guys do 37 hour podcasts. It ain't for guys to listen to on the way to work. Its for guys to listen to all alone after work while they play videos games and cry to their virtual therapist on Zoom.

Often you won't read about comedians who are "funny." You'll read people in comment sections etc. say that comedians are "cool" versus uncool. Very telling IMO.

The only person retarded enough to base their career on standup over patreon is Mark Normand, and it's sad he's probably the "best" comedian to come up in the 2010s.

The last actual funny comedian was Hannibal Burress who relies on the shtick of being a black nerd

If we're talking Roganites I think Tim Dillon is funny. Not his podcast per se because I don't dig his monologue format, but whenever he's talking to someone he's hilarious.
He used to be very funny back in the day. People forget he was a complete nobody for several years doing gas digital podcasts every day before he moved to LA and became a fame addict. I was never mad at him “selling out” because he was always very transparent about it. I haven’t kept up with his podcast in a while though, I heard it’s been shit ever since he had a falling out with his old producer a year or two ago.

Kind of but not really. I think Shane is much more humble about his success and is probably more down to earth. It also seems like nobody has a bad word to say about him. Tim is kind of openly a cunt to people but would proudly admit it.

Not a huge fan of his stand up. He has made me laugh a few times and it's always a Phil story. Probably bc my dad is like him. The story about getting woken up by his parents happened in my house 2-3 times a week growing up. My mom says "gotta get movin" the same way his mom does i showed it to them at Christmas and they had a loff

Yuck. "Hes just like me!!" Lol!

Never heard him. Everyone i know who likes him is into Rogan. Cant be funny.
I heard on one of those “commentary channels” that Shane actually doesn’t need Rogan anymore, he got popular because of that midget’s podcast but now he’s got his own fans. I’m not really into standup but he’s gotta be miles ahead of fucking Joe “bears are strong” Rogan or Bert “hey I’m a faggot drunk who’s in his 50s” (((Kreischer))).
