Rap ages much more poorly than rock and roll did. Some dipshit kid can rediscover an old band like Zeppelin or Sabbath, as it's not filled with dated references that make no sense out of context. But old rap just sounds like old rap.

Zeppelin and Sabbath are very much of their time, just as much as rap. There is no such thing as timeless music. You don't hear The Entertainer or Johnny B. Goode and confuse it for something you'd hear black dudes composing today.
