My 30 minute commute in 2014 used to line up exactly with Sam's "pre-show" and it was fffffuuuuucccckkkkkinnnnnng ENNNNRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGING.

@LingerLonger can fact check me on this, but I want to say I even got the Pre-show on my drive back. Didn't they replay the pre-show all day along with the real show? For what possible reason would you replay the fucking Sam Roberts pre-show in the afternoon?

This was also exactly when podcasts were exploding and starting to become mainstream as the bbbbbboys continued to put up a whatever effort

I'm just talking about the absurdity/laziness of the two to give Sam a 30-minute preshow during their 4 hour broadcasting block. And it literally did coincide with my commute so I was paying for Sirius for O&A and didn't get to hear them due to their unwarranted self-confidence and lack of Protestant work ethic

I fail to see how continuing to do your show and not voluntarily giving part of it to Sam Roberts would lead to kissing Kristen Bell's ass.

If I listen to O&A nowadays I get infuriated by just hearing Jim speak knowing he will marry a man in the future and refer to him as his wife. If I hear Anthony speak I get mad because of all of his many transgressions and stupidity he displays daily on Twitter.

Sirius would pay random nobody celebrities eight or nine figures. Or just dump trucks of cash on Eminem or Oprah. Not to mention paying Howard so much money that they actually lose money on the overall subs and advertisers he brings in. They probably thought that Sirius was dumb enough to pay them millions for the rest of their lives.

They were probably right. If they didn't get fired and just kept their heads down they would be making probably $5-$10million a year at Sirius like a random celebrity podcast or whatever. Sirius bought Conan O'Brien's podcast for $150million. They bought Jason Bateman's podcast for $100million. They are notorious for wasting money on programming. Do you know anyone who listens to those podcasts?

They would replay the pre-show, the post-show, Norton's awful advice hour, and anything else to fill time if they needed to hit another block of programming on their channel. Stern is even worse as he only works three days a week and has almost no other live shows and on top of that has two premium channels to fill.

And even worse than that is that Stern's archives from the 80s up until Artie quit basically do not get replayed ever because Howard hates his shock jock former self. So his recycling of content consists of the most recent shows and those need to fill nearly every hour on two stations aside from the three days a week he broadcasts.

Sirius told them to stop focusing on podcasts. They had the O&A Podcast and they were regularly hosting other podcasts on their channel on the weekends. They tried to get Sirius to sign people like Rogan, Nick Dip, or Bobby. The answer was always 'no'. If you are not in the Stern camp you will get zero attention from corporate at Sirius.
