He shot it?

Back at WNEW, yeah. Wasn't that the most viewed content on the site?

Why was Sam running around with a camera the whole time? Sure he hosted it "for free", he was getting paid out the ass from advertisements and affiliate links.
Steve spent more time on Foundry than he did working for the show.

I don't disagree that he deserved to be held accountable for short-changing the show, but that's a separate conversation from "Does he deserve compensation for the Foundry catalog?"

That's why I stopped getting along with him, remember? He made metric fucktons of money off of that content, asking O&A for money at that point was signing his own death warrant, both figuratively and literally.

This also makes sense. You were there; was Steve surprised when he got fired? It seemed like he'd been checked out for a while leading up to it, so was he ready for it? I'm from the school of thought that Steve deserved to get paid for old videos from the show that the hosts were nonchalant and hands off about. I also think he put a giant target on his back when he did and should've expected repercussions.

Steve was really just the "web guy" and not so much an Executive Producer. See how when he was fired, his position was never filled? Almost as if he was never needed.

You've alluded to this before. How much of a hit was it behind the scenes when Ben got fired? Would the show have been more successful if Ben produced through 2014 or so?

We went to Disney AFTER this. His daughter would call me Uncle Danny. Again, you act and pretend like some insider. You're just another average asshole with 100% of his knowledge from what he heard on the radio show. Stop pretending you know the behind the scenes relationships. Stop speculating about the relationships of men from 15 years ago.

Last I spoke to Travis was about 7 years ago I guess. We had a long phone call. Beyond that, Travis likes to forget that I helped save his job after he kicked that intern in the balls. The quote I remember from his email was "I don't owe you anything". And in my head I was like..well, yeah you sure do! I chose to go my separate ways then. In 2017, five years after I stopped working there. How many co-workers you talk to from 2005?

Lmao, nobody I know plays music anymore. People I grew up with and jammed with don't play anymore. They don't have time or a number of other excuses. Not everyone I know shares my hobbies. I don't know anybody who collects art anymore either. The fact that you creeps try and stalk me on Facebook is so creepy and gross. Who does that. Look at what you do. You should be put down with one of those bolt guns. People who do shit like that are the real scary ones. DMAN, I'll tell you. Behavior like that isn't normal. You shouldn't know what Facebook groups I look for musicians in. That's sick, scary behavior. Do you ever feel shame or embarrassment? You should. A lot of you should. I shouldn't be this important to your daily lives, but here were are yet again.
"You should be put down with one of those bolt guns."

I've been giggling all day because of this line!

At the time as there was no XM yet. Once XM happened and Steve got slammed with production, I filmed a lot of it before Sam came on board. Once Sam was on board, that was a duty we gave him so there was no question over who was going to film for Steve.

I don't disagree that he deserved to be held accountable for short-changing the show, but that's a separate conversation from "Does he deserve compensation for the Foundry catalog?"

He was already compensated for the catalog. At WNEW, Steve was simply doing production making sweepers and "Guess What's In My Pants" jingles. You're not getting great pay doing that, especially at the time. So now it's 2004 and XM is starting up and Steve has a home in a gated community and a second one in the save development that he rents out. How do you make all that money doing production at WNEW. Hint, you don't. When he was hired at XM he was making more than ever, and Foundry was bringing in more than ever. I think he asked for the $10K as like a polite courtesy but couldn't read the room. While Steve fucked up, the only reason this became a discussion was because of Opie's greed. Once Opie realized he was missing out on supplemental income that Steve was getting, he wanted ALL of Steve's pie. He didn't want to share it, he wanted all of it now.

was Steve surprised when he got fired?

I'd never know. They fired him just before the end of a show, I was in studio, so I only found out after he was escorted out and the last time we spoke was prob that morning, maybe. He was never checked IN to it. You gotta remember Steve was just a prod guy. He never asked for the EP gig, he was just sucked into it and was faking it till he made it every day. Problem is, he never made it, and we all knew he was faking it. Again you mention videos, and again Steve made plenty of money from videos over the years.

How much of a hit was it behind the scenes when Ben got fired? Would the show have been more successful if Ben produced through 2014 or so?

A hit? Not sure what you mean. Ben got along with all the staff swimmingly. Ben was a lot of fun and Ben would go to bat for you with everything he had if he believed in you. Nobody was happy Ben was fired, and none of us thought we gonna be called up so it didn't breed any animosity inside the crew.

So, usually or at least back then anyway. The Executive Producer was responsible for making contacts, booking guests and maintaining all those relationships while growing so when your talent wants somebody, you can have a good shot at getting them all while being the liaison to management. Ben's days were always numbered once XM hired CTB for booking talent. This is where Roland came from. So, now you're paying a 3rd party to book talent and the EP just kind of sits there and deals with management emails. Not exactly a specialized job anymore.

No. I don't think Ben's talents would have made much of a difference for the show's trajectory.

Edit - Bonnie, you can't crash it before I have time proofread and make edit's. That's how I know you didn't read a single word.

You’re so obsessed and bitter. It’s pathetic. Grown man soliciting cover band mates on Facebook.

By hit I meant setback and your post kinda confirms what I suspected, but I'm surprised you don't think his firing was an inflection point for the show. In other posts you've suggested that Ben had the skills Steve lacked and Steve was dropped into a role that Ben was a better fit for.

And why was Roland even hired if Ben was already doing the job?
