Believe it or not, the radio still exists in 2025. Every car has one. If you want to larp your hip modern character as someone who listens to spotify, turn off the radio and listen to spotify.

Fernando is in almost every modern GTA. He was a guest on Lazlows show in GTA3, he hosted the Emotion station in Vice City, he had a talk show in San Andreas (WCTR), he had a segment on Emotion in Vice City Stories, he was the host of Vice City FM in GTAIV and he had another talk show in GTAV.

I think the closest would be GTA 3 having Flashback FM which played songs from Scarface. Each of the songs was less than 20 years old at that point. San Andreas had a lot of 70s tracks, but I'm not sure if it was a 70s specific station and even if it was it's still tracks that were less than 20 years old from the setting.
Same may, but I wouldn't count Double Clef FM from GTA 3 because it's all old time opera style music and was only there to have a station for the Italians.

It would make sense that they'd go with something your character has to pay a subscription for...so you have to buy more fake money for the fake person you're larping as. I'd have to assume the game is just going to be full of micro-transactions instead of doing something more immersive like linking your actual phone to the console so you can listen to whatever's on it, but I'm sure there will be gay licensing issues with that.
Playing with my beosystem 2500 with some Duran Duran and it just came to me….. what if they have all the radio stations set up with playlists that the player could connect to their paid music service to get the full experience but leaving t2m and rockstar off the hook for royalties. Like you connect your paid for music subscription into the game to get the good songs that make the game like vice city had but not on the developers dime. If you don’t connect your subscription then you get the base no name shit like they had in V
