At a glance, it looks like he's saying something. Anyone who looks closer will see that he is not. "I said progress and mentioned meaning without any specifics, child, for I am a genius."

I kinda like the first Matrix for what it is. A dopey action movie with a few effects that were new at the time. It also took ideas from a comic book I like because I'm a faggot.

Anyway, Cronenberg's eXistenZ came out the same year and handled similar ideas in a better way, if you ask me.

Not to be a contrarian but the Matrix was just OK. The first one. Good gunfights and effects for the time. Never really been into sci-fi and the "philosophising" plot was Plato's Cave for retards. Never got the hype. Heard the other 2 were shit so never bothered. Certainly won't bother with this one. Pat's fat is what I'm getting at.

The first is still fairly solid. The two sequels are absolutely terrible and despite far bigger budgets somehow look even worse than the first. The rave sequence in the second movie is one of the most tedious things I've ever seen. I'm not going to say everything I've ever been involved in has been great but I couldn't even pretend to be happy with those two heaps of shit if my career depended on it.

There was no need for a 4th Matrix, especially since the majority of viewers thought the 2nd and 3rd were bad. The 1st was a hit and was cool at the time but has aged badly, the whole “bullet time” effect which was applauded but dates it forever as a 90s movie. Also the black leather trench coat also screams late 90s. Younger people don’t give a shit about the matrix and this movie was made for middle aged man children like Pat. This is like how they keep trying to bring Terminator back only to keep screwing it up. This is just a cheap nostalgia cash grab and fatty can’t see the studios don’t think much of their audience. I used to work in TV/Film production and was told by many “higher ups” at networks they know their audience is stupid and we’re against anything that required the viewer to think. Just stare at it and make sure you cry and cheer at the correct places (sound familiar?)
