I was showing Automanic to a buddy of mine who used to work as an auto mechanic and I was annoyed I couldn’t find the best part: “Cars aren't built like they used to be. They're built far, far better.”

It seems that after being mercilessly ridiculed for writing such tripe, a humiliated Pat did some stealth editing and removed it.

I wonder what else he changed. I looked a bit at the archive.org cache but quickly lost interest. This did catch my eye, though:

I also bet this wasn’t Pat’s first content project to be quickly abandoned. Pat is utterly incapable of putting in consistent work on a regular basis. That’s just not as exciting as collecting “kill shots” or getting in knife fights. If anyone finds another blog that Pat abandoned like he did his daughter, I’ll send you a $50 Amazon gift card for each find.

The funniest thing about those shitty chairs is that he finished them. So many people on here were ragging on him about how he'd never finish them that he actually went and saw something through to completion for once. I’m still not persuaded that he built them himself. He’s got a history of pretending to do work that Niki publicly shared was done by a day laborer. I just don’t trust his fat mouth.

I think it was part delusional thinking and part following the “thinking” behind self-help bullshit like The Secret. Pat thinks he can “manifest” slaving adoration and success by acting as if he’s already achieved it. He thinks people are as fucking stupid as he is and will think “Wow this guy with a handful of views says he has fans. I’d better subscribe, follow, like and smash that notification bell!”
