I just thought - The reason Leslie is driving Patrick so insane and why he can't stop responding to her for days on end now, is because she refuses to affirm him. You see Patrick is not dissimilar to a trans person. It's not enough for a tranny to just declare "I'm a woman" (or "I'm a victim" in Patrick's case) and be happy ; they need the entire world to affirm them or the illusion shatters.
