Yeah I’ve seen plenty of cases like that where they get no or very light punishment. You’d be insane as a prosecutor to put a case like that in front of a jury.

The jury system is probably the best thing we’ve got but it’s still frightening when you consider how retarded the average person is, and then remember 50% of people are below that.

Some boomer colleague was on a jury and “couldn’t talk about it” while talking all about it every day for months at work, and her rationale for finding him guilty was things like “he looked shifty and had liar eyes” - still don’t really know what that means.
