The update of the gun law that would put him away was passed in December. In previous years less than half the people who were caught lying on permit applications were charged and of that half none went to prison for it. So really, nobody is ignoring it or downplaying it. He was treated the same as half the people who committed that same crime in 2019, harsher than the other half because he has a plea deal. I am speculating here but I will guess that the court prefers unqualified people who try to get permits over those who say fuck it and just buy an illegal gun.

It seems you are angrily regurgitating some bullshit you saw on right wing news without actually knowing anything.

To Pat, "the establishment" is what Patrice used to joke about how black people viewed the white illuminati - a roomful of men who look like the guy on the Quaker Oats box sitting around plotting world events and how to keep minorities down. Because the guy who's been a senator his entire adult life is on his "team," he's a force for good. If he's shown anything over the last 5 or whatever years, it's that he has a childlike view of politics. It's a spectator sport for him. Blue team good, red team bad.

You've paid more attention to pat's politics than I have, he blocked me after 1 response to one of his tweets years ago, but I still can't imagine anyone being this dumb. He's almost 50 he's heard Biden's name all over politics for years, his dirt came out every time he took a run at the primaries, unless you believe Obama gave birth to Biden in 2018 you couldn't view him as an anti establishment candidate. I even remember when Obama took him on BECAUSE he had a history of racism
