He would be very proud of his service and why shouldn't a pilot be proud of their service? Those guys had some huge balls to do that shit, especially back in those days. This fat pig is acting like flying a plane is the same as being Kempetai or unit 731 (which they'd still probably be proud of over there).

Also on the small chance they'd be remorseful it would probably just be "oh hahaha so solly".
