I love the fact that they chose to go to Tulum for their "luxury" vacation. My parents went to Tulum in the 1970s, when it was a bohemian, off-the-beaten path destination. But for about the past ten years, Tulum has been a huge destination for ghetto blacks from the US. It's Freaknik with donkeys. Perfect for flyover rubes like Pat and Niki.

People who are actually cultured would go to a place like Morelia or Puebla. Hell, the Frida Kahlo and National Anthropological museums in Mexico City are world class and are among the best in all of Latin America. But Pat and Niki chose to sip on semen-colored cocktails next to piles of rotting seaweed and swim in bat guano-infested pools. Nice extravagant vacation, stupid.

For our British friends, Tulum is kind of like the Mexican equivalent of Magaluf.
