One of my friends (good friends 25 years ago or so) is a celebrity doctor in NYC. One of my friends from childhood, is a bench coach in the NBA- and my best friend for a few years when I was growing up (we were inseparable), his father and I think my friend runs it now, is very connected to the LCN in NYC and they own a catering business that was used to film the wedding scene in Goodfellas and the wedding scene for Johnny Sack's daughter in The Sopranos.

Other links to "fame," my dad had his art work framed and posted on The Intrepid in NYC. My uncle used to be a writer/cartoonist for Circus magazine and he's famous in the art circle for his stained glass work.

I was friendly enough with Dave Rubin when I was growing up and everyone knew he was gay by 6th grade or so.
