o&a's obsession with terrible bands

I'm pretty sure I heard my first Wolfmother song a couple of days ago, I've been playing Guitar Hero and they had a song on there. It's called Woman.
Previously, whenever I heard the name "Wolfmother", I always thought of the First Aid Kit song Wolf.

The good news is you don't have to listen to any other wolfmother songs.

Nana's insistence that any live performance that wasn't note for the note identical to the studio version was shit still enrages me.

The time Opie thought he'd share a joke with the guy from Godsmack and admitted to throwing their demo CD out of his car window is still funny though. Opie really thought they'd have a laugh about it and the guy was clearly pissed and never went on the show again.

Wolfmother is faceless butt rock suitable for background noise in a beer commercial. 2000s rock music entered the same zombie state as the Simpsons: clearly dead yet still churning out shit. Generic timid dweebs with zero charisma dressed up in rock costumes making average recycled shit & the only people hyping it were desperate nerds clinging to the idea rock wasn't dead (DUDE THIS SONG HAS POWER CHORDS AND YELLING, MUSIC IS SAVED) or faggots born in 1997 who'd never lived through anything better.

That Rahzel record never came out. They did some live shows together and Rahzel made Patton look bad. Patton is terrific, but anytime he dipped his toes in wiggerdom it was always bad.
Agreed. I don't really like the first fnm albums for that reason. Angel Dust is my favourite. Also he did a track with Doseone a few years ago and it was fucking terrible and I like Dose even though he makes pretentious white boy rap.

I know just about everything to do with classic rock. The first albums good.

Peeping Tom and General Patton & the X-cutioners was just not all that good. It's cool he just goes for it though. The pre-Patton FNM albums are terrific if you can appreciate the raw singing of Chuck Mosley. The Real Thing is good but I think I like it for sentimental reasons. Angel Dust is one of the best albums ever to me.

Yeah I'd rather an artist experiment and put out some dross than allow themselves to get stuck in a rut. Most of my favourite bands had some terrible albums. I like the Chuck albums a bit, but haven't listened to them for years. They are probably better than I remember tbh. I used to have no patience for vocalists. I even wrote off the first couple of Iron Maiden albums because I didn't think Paul Di'anno was any good 😕

Well they were like 40 by the time grunge became a thing, and by then they were pretending to be late 20’s. So basically any grunge band they looked at as “Thats something the late 20 year olds listen to, right?”

They love U2, Pearl Jam, STP, Foo Fighters, Kiss, Ozzy, Neil Diamond, etc…like the most stereotypical classic rock boomer playlist ever

Besides Pearl Jam, and stp, kiss, and Neil diamond, certainly aren’t grunge. opie listened to whatever the rock station he was on was playing, Norton loved kiss and Ozzy from his childhood. AntH likes the music of his parents.

I think Joe Rogan was on the show telling them how awesome Wolfmother was back in 2007 or 2008, so they just went into "if Rogan thinks it is cool, it must be true" mode.
Joe Rogan has the shittest taste in everything, but it's never brought up enough just how shit his taste in music is.

I first heard of the Black Keys through listening to JRE back in 2016, with Joe praising their songs like they're the second coming of Nirvana or something. I check out a few of songs and to me it sounds like rock music in a car ad.

And thinking about it now, Joe's also mentioned how much he loves Buck Cherry's Crazy Bitch because "it's true".

Godsmack. No reason required.
I remember them shit talking drum solos, all drum solos sucked, except when fawking Godsmack did it. Friends of da show *sniff*

They always did that shit. If you saw Patrice in one episode of The Office operating a pallet lifter in the background he was fawking blowing up. He was fawking great in The Office, was he?

This is one of those "broken clock is right twice a day" things from Anthony's "book", where he says that Opie doesn't seem to actually like anything. Anytime Opie brought a song/band (or anything, really) to the show, he sounded completely unsure of himself and unable to not only articulate why he likes it, but he couldn't articulate anything about it at all. It was like an alien describing music or something. Anything he brought up was just to reflect on his desired image, as opposed to expressing earnest interest in something.
Or it was something like what does the fox say in a desperate attempt to go viral
