I always found it weird he chose Sabbath and KISS specifically. Sabbath had some real talent behind their members (well, everyone who isn't Ozzy, but his lack in technical skill is made up for by an interesting voice) whereas most non-boomers dismiss KISS as just a cheesy front for Heeb Simmons's merchandising empire. There are plenty of bands that sound very similar to Sabbath that Jim doesn't give the slightest fuck about. I'm no MMA expert but I remember on da old sub people would routinely link MMA subs talking about Norton's podcast and how he doesn't know shit about fighting beyond some rigid laundry list of facts.
It's all a fascination with "alpha" men, rockers who rail busloads of sluts or meatheads who train all day to dominate someone else.
