The funny thing is I don't think he even wants to be a musician. He wants to be Jack Black. He's an actor. He wants to star in big Hollywood comedies instead of popping up for a 5 second cameo in Jack Black movies. Tenacious D is just their little joke band that they started doing when they were in a comedy troupe with Tim Robbins or some shit.
