Your post made me think... he really is getting cheap and lazy. Why not have his new podcast in the YKWD studio where he did the Chip show?
I assume Blawbby was charging him next to nothing if anything.
Jim has always been cheap. He writes everything off as a business expense, he doesn’t travel for fun and his main hobby is taking pics with famous people and occasionally paying for sex. The well may have dried up now, but he’s had the better part of 25 years making money doing radio, touring (doing theaters generates righteous coin), books and TV appearances. Pre getting married he was sitting on a decent nest egg. We’ll see how long that lasts.

It’s not controversial at all, Sam sucks but he’s a perfectly functional radio host who puts the effort in, I wouldn’t listen to him but he’s doing the job he’s paid to do adequately.

Morton is a boring old drama queen gay man who complains about eggs and has a weird husband 1/3rd his age.
Sam sucks but he has at least figured out how to be a radio host over the years while Norton is the worst person possible for a daily radio show discussing pop culture / current events because he hasn’t watched or listened to any new movies / tv / music in over 30 years. Sam had to do all the heavy lifting with Norton because no matter what was going in the news Jim was unaware of the story or had no idea who anybody was involved in the story. That’s like being a co-host on a sports show but you haven’t watched any sports in decades.

They always joked on Ron & Fez how Fez was sitting on a bunch of money because he didn’t do much - barely left the house, lived on Roosevelt island (retard island) took the subway / public transit, would only go visit his parents in FL on vacation (also flew coach) etc which is similar to Norton. Little Jimmy probably could have retired if didn’t re-sign and live a comfortable life but he married a mentally ill man in a dress who will kill him or take all his money in a gay divorce.

I think Jim saved plenty of money, but has always had financial anxiety because he knew how tenuous his cushy gig was with O&A. I also think he always secretly saw himself as slightly above working comics like Vos, Bobby, Otto, etc. because he had a "steady" job and could treat stand-up as his passion side-hustle.

Now, however, he doesn't have that. And for some reason insists on living in downtown New York instead of moving out to the burbs like Vos and Bobby, presumably because he likes being able to walk to his gigs at the Cellar instead of driving out to Philly or Connecticut every weekend like Vos. Now he really does have to save money because if his podcast fails, he has no future in radio and his acting career never materialized.

Marrying a trophy-tranny with a credit card addiction was probably a write-off in his mind because he was sending the Swede that money anyway on the internet, but he had no idea how fast that monstrosity could really blow through cash.

Don't underestimate how much Jim has spent on his sex addiction. Maybe he's not getting actual whores as much these days, but he used to spend absurd amounts on them, and who knows how much he spent on "tokens" wooing his hulking bride. I remember in the early XM days he mentioned he spent 5 figures on prostitutes in a year, and he was probably being conservative.

If he owns his place, which he probably does; then he doesn’t have to worry about a mortgage or rent and just property taxes. If he’s living in lower Manhattan , then his condo will only appreciate in value. He’s probably got some kind of IRA or retirement account and maybe some investments. I don’t think he’ll go broke or become like Cumia, and sooner or later that marriage is going to end as Jim gets bored and cheats or Thor leaves him for a young twink it can boss around. Outside of his nephew, he’s got no real heir.

It’s like Nana, is he broke? No. But spending like there’s no tomorrow for 20 years has made him tighten the straps when most guys like us would loosening up to relax and enjoy the golden years. He’s got money to live comfortably like a small business owner but not 10k hands of blackjack and 90 degree pool temps.

That’s my favorite part of this whole Trainwreck - Norton has been cheap / frugal for decades while earning a good living on radio AND being able to do weekend comedy gigs (he played some good size venues when he was on ONA, same with Artie & Jackie when they were on Stern) so we’re talking a very good amount of money put away over the years.

It’s clear “Niki” has no concept of money or earning over time and is spending old jimmy’s money faster than Jimmy could ever imagine. Norton’s prime earning days are long behind him and now Thor is burning through what he’s been saving his whole.

Knowing Jim he probably can’t even understand how someone can spend so much so fast.

Wasn’t he on the UFC podcast? I tried listening to it years ago and it was the same old story with Morton, one host carrying the whole point of the show while he just complains about uber drivers and doing his “I’m a cute little weirdo sex freak” act incessantly, you’re a gay rapist 67 year old, nobody cares.

I think he's pretty transparently trying to leverage his relationship with a man into a spot in the zoomer-focused podcast circuit. He never would have been able to get a foothold in 5 years ago with his history, but now that he's an ally he becomes more accessible to a larger audience.
It's working for him to a degree, but he's still in his 60s, completely unknown, and too late to the game to really profit off of it.

His new podcast venture will be a failure.
What's interesting to me about Jimmy's current shtick is how it'd never work if Nikki was actually a girl. If Nikki was a female sex worker who met Jimmy when she was 18, and he went through all kinds of machinations to get her into the US, then acted as a "sugar daddy" type with her, his showbiz friends would shun him, and he'd be widely derided as a "groomer" who took advantage of a damaged young woman to satisfy his depraved sexual whims. But, because she's a tranny, everyone kind of gives him a pass, and mostly overlooks how twisted and disturbing the story really is.

It's likewise intriguing how Jimmy, who built his entire career on a foundation of gross depravity and retarded sexuality, opted to go the whole other way with his gay podcast, and mostly apes old "married fella" sitcom tropes while mostly overlooking the warped, sexual side of their unholy union. He's excised the only thing that really made him stand out. Watching and listening to Jimmy arguing with a man in a skirt and halter top about buying new furniture isn't nearly as entertaining as it sounds.

"She" becomes less convincing and more grating with each passing second she's on camera, and Jimmy is even more repulsive than he was when he was merely slug-like and lovable. He really does look ghastly these days. It's clearly taking a huge, Nana-like toll on him. I believe he's doomed, and it's only a matter of time until Nikki destroys him in one way or another. You can never trust a prostitute.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather listen to Sam Roberts than Jim and his 30 new desperation podcasts. I kind of hope he slithers back to Sam, begging to be back on the show, only for the new King of All Media, Sam Roberts, to give him the boot. What the fuck is wrong with me?
I'm with you. Sam, Travis and Troy are much more amusing than the Worm.

Came across a video of him and Thor fighting recently and it showed a lot of the apartment and to be honest it is quite nice. It was 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom, very modern apartment, had access to a private balcony which looked to be quite large, kitchen and living areas were quite spacious for apartment living and he had long hallways which is a rarity in most normal apartments. The building definitely is one of the rich person buildings which would have a gym, a pool, maybe a theatre room, door staff, suitable maintenance staff etc. Thor got upset about a stuffed animal being out of place and Jimmy blamed some staff member he has come in so that person would be getting paid also.

As a complete guess I'd say that an apartment like that located where it is would run him thousands a month. Probably wasn't too bad when he had 15k a month coming in from Sirius but when you're relying on a few road gigs a month and YouTube revenue things might start to change.

Did you folks forget he pay that dumb ape Kenny for decades? He's cheap but doesn't mean he's saving a lot

You guys keep talking about how frugal that Jim is, but this is a liability in a divorce.

A couple of anecdotes:

1) When I stared dating my wife, almost all of my money was tied up in real estate, and a lot of it barely had any equity. The house that I lived in, I bought it in 2008 and watched all my equity evaporate. My wife had ZERO incentive to divorce me, because she couldn't "take me to the cleaners;" if we split up the assets, there wasn't much to take. Once the market recovered, my net worth improved a lot. But there was a while there when I had houses that I would have lost money on, if I'd sold them. (I didn't.)

2) I had a friend who scrimped and saved his entire life, had two kids with a much younger woman. She cheated on him with a dude at work, divorced his ass, took half of his money, got child support on top of that. So half of his wealth went bye-bye AND he had to cut her a check every month for the kids. For a while, he was delivering newspapers at night, just to keep up with the bills. Because he was "sentimentally attached" to the house he lived in, when they got divorce, he had to write her a check for HER half of the house's equity EVEN THOUGH HE DIDN'T SELL THE HOUSE. IE, if you live in a house and it's worth a million, you have two options if your wife leaves you. The first option is to sell the house and split the proceeds, that's the easy option. The HARD option is to hold on to the house, and make an educated guess about what it's worth, and then PAY HER THAT, on top of half of your 401K, half your savings, etc. When the dust settles, you may find that 75% of your wealth is GONE and you have to cut her a check every month. That's how 40yo dudes wind up working a second job at 7-11. For a dude with a million dollar house, $500K in equity, and a million in a 401K, he would have to give his wife $250K in cash for the home equity (even though the home isn't sold), $500K of the 401K, her lawyer fees, and child support payments. So from DAY ONE, his net worth goes from $1.5M (as a household) to $750,000. Most importantly, he has to take ALL of that $750K out of his 401K (because he didn't sell the house.) He ends up House Poor in the extreme, AND he still has to pay her lawyer too, for the pleasure of getting sued by her. When he walks out of court, he'll have equity in the house and 80-85% of his liquid assets are G-O-N-E.

Jim and Thor don't have kids, obviously, but when Thor bails on Norton, he will be responsible for all of Thor's expenses. That's one of the caveats of the K1 Visa Program. The United States does this, so that people don't "game the system" by marrying foreigners (to get them citizenship) and then divorcing them a week later.

Bookmark this post, because here's what will happen to Jimmy:

1) He's going to go on a big tour playing theaters. They will not come close to selling out. If he's renting the venue, like Carolla and Louis CK do, Jim is 'on the hook' for the rental cost. If he can't fill at least 75% of the room, he'll lose money. This is the reason that Carolla stopped doing theaters and now plays at Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club at the Linq in Vegas; I assume that Kimmel just lets him play for free there. A lot of comedians aren't so lucky, and have to "pay to play."

2) On the latest podcast, Thor said he wants a girlfriend. Norton didn't even flinch, he's obviously heard it before.

3) Thor will start dating a woman who's age appropriate. There really aren't a whole lot of trannies that date men; most MTF trannies date women, and Thor is obviously doing this for the $$$$. People aren't "born" trans, it's just a fetish. Thor is a dude who likes women and who has a fetish for dressing up like one.

4) With Jim Norton out-of-state, Thor will have carte blanche to fuck all the women he wants.

I think I know perverts pretty well, and I wouldn't be surprised if Norton quit the Sirius gig, because he fantasizes about watching Thor fuck women. He probably thinks he can go out on the road, get away from his drunk boyfriend, and watch his boyfriend plow women with his Thorcock. Of course, none of that will happen, because why would it? Thor has zero incentive to do anything for Jim, because Thor can take half of Jim's money, any time he feels like it.

As his friend, did you see the divorce coming? Was she a bitch or was it unexpected?
