And no one has ever "censored" Nana. He was fired for rage-tweeting, not for anything he said on the air, and he's well aware of this. His whole post-O&A premise, that he's been persecuted and silenced over his beliefs, is a big fat lie. He understands how the business works, and why his employer had to can him. Gavin looks extremely embarrassed. Twenty years ago, this dude was doing blow in the East Village with Spike Jonze and probably getting hummers from Chloe Sevigny, now this is his life. You can see him realizing in real time that he should have fired Nana when he had the chance. Milo and Gavin are taking over each other and saying nothing while Nana stands to the side uncomfortably because there’s a very mild bit of confrontation happening. The thing about those Compound/Censored shows is that Gavin and Nana had no chemistry whatsoever. Gavin did all the talking, and Ant seemed to barely follow along and just made 70s TV references. He was like Robin to Stern, except more womanly and darker.

This clip is Nana/Gavin in a nutshell. Gavin starts telling a story, "My son has these little planks.." and Nana's first instinct is to start laughing, even though nothing funny is said (he actually catches himself from going full "HAHA HOLEEE SHIT"). Then when Gavin does say something funny, Nana has to turn away from him and look at the booth while laughing, for some reason. Then he is completely unable to follow the rest of the story and doesn't even realize what Gavin is talking about when he references a "kettle"
