Twin sticks like Karate Champ?

Kind of. Been years since I've played it, but here's how I remember it:

Dual analog joysticks, large ones at that. It also had trigger buttons on it for attacks. Somewhat complex but not after you played it a bit. It really felt like you were controlling a giant robot.

It's no Steel Battalion, but you couldn't pay me to play that fucking thing.

I used to play Virtua Tennis like a madman back in the day. Even my brother stopped playing me because he'd never win. The pussy.

I actually just bought a dreamcast last week! my ps4 controller crapped out on me in the middle of a session, so I went to my local game shop the following morning to pick up a replacement. as soon as I saw they had a dreamcast on the shelf, I immediately had tunnel vision. first impulsive purchase I've made in maybe 10 years, but it was in fine condition and the price wasn't bad. still don't own any games for it, but it is a revision 1 model, meaning it can not only play games burned on cd's, but also be modified with an sd card booter and loaded up with the entire dreamcast library. well worth it, in my opinion

Haven't ever bought a console but just wanna play Madden and talk shit

If all you really wanna play is Madden for a while and video games aren't your thing, just buy an Xbox Series S or a PS4. Series S is newer, but you need to buy a download of the game because it doesn't take discs. PS4 is older but they all take discs. And yeah everyone was right about voice chat being monitored and heavily censored now. Being able to talk shit is now relegated only to PC games from companies that aren't megacorps like Microsoft and Sony. Also, consoles crash a lot now and you have to either buy a way bigger drive or delete and reinstall games a lot because you can only have a few ready to go at any given time. This applies to PS5, too.

PCs are nice, but you have to become a computer guy. The kind of guy that gets excited when he sees NVMe drives and RAM. The kind of guy that lists his CPU and video card in his forum signature. The kind of guy that drops $200 on a mechanical keyboard, and proudly posts vanity shots of his desktop setup on Reddit. You will have a little gaming station with a special screen and chair and desk. All because you wanted to call people niggers over a game of Madden.

Sorry man, shit sucks. Should have gotten all your gaming in before 2013.

The best ones you probably can still get cheap are Virtua Tennis, Ready 2 Rumble and Crazy Taxi.

Not too time consuming when you're a busy AOR artist like myself, and that version of Crazy Taxi at least has the right music in it.
