Mega cheapo bass review

Ordered this "Glarry" el cheapo to be a beater i can leave around the house without worrying about it, kinda looks like an 80s Charvel or G&L stripped-down p-bass clone for about $95 . Came with bullshit chinese gigbag which has so little padding as to render it a dust cover. Bass is pretty good for what it is; solid construction, stays in tune, electronics are serviceable, could be a good mod project, and fun to play. Downsides are the headstock and logo look retarded, and there was a small crack in the neck pocket from the neck being on too tight. If this wasn’t so cheap, the neck pocket crack would bother me, but i anticipate this thing taking a beating and it's not worth dealing with whatever customer service is behind this bass.

I like playing bass, I bought the one in this video, it’s 300 bucks and a really fun little guitar, I like short scale because I’m a short man.

I play it like a rhythm guitar with a pic because that’s what I’m used to. I’m terrible but I enjoy it.

I've always wondered about those gretsch jet basses. I was looking at those before, specifically the walnut stain one. The Gretch Electromatic line is always a safe bet, they're made overseas but Gretsch has strong QC

For the price it’s faultless.

I don’t think you can beat gretsch at that price point.

I also have this gretsch parlour guitar, I think it was like 180 new? Super cheap but shockingly well built for that money.

Colin react rib points for the first person to identify the sticker I added.

I impulse bought a ~$90 Mitchell short scale last year because I always wanted to learn the bass, but I'm still just at the clumsy fiddling stage. Got a "teach yourself to play" booklet as well, but clearly I'm not a very good teacher. I want to get lessons, but spending almost twice as much on a decent hardcase to transport it has kept me from doing that. Someone call me a faggot and motivate me, or maybe suggest beginner-friendly sources.

Just learn something easy that’s basically going up and down the e string that sounds good, then go from there.

Suggestion is pretty much any fall out boy songs that Pete wentz plays live lol

I've seen so many cheap guitars that are comparable to a more expensive model but just weren't set up properly. Crazy high action caused by bridges that just need to be sanded. Necks that just need slight adjustments, shit like that. I'm skeptical that there's really much of a difference between $150 and $500 guitars. Once you start getting into the nicer materials it's different but otherwise it's always better to save the money

Wwaw the fender jag stang?

It’s my fave guitar to play. I’m too poor to waste the money buying one now though.

I don't play electrics. I always end up spending more time fucking around with dials than actually playing. I just want to strum my guitar and sing.
