Got any dirt/insider info on Crowded House, previously Split Enz, Ray? Any 80's era Aussie bands (minus INXS)? Been stuck in my head for over a week. Thank you.He likes them young.
.... So I've possibly heard.
But yeah, not a fan.

Big dick Ray delivering yet again! Not a peep about Neil and the crew, really. Paul, though? Lad certainly had his demons, that's for sure, but Neil seems to run a fairly tight ship. I don't think he would put up with bullshit - and If he did, he's wise to keep it quiet.

That's not Serch?! Wow!
Well, completely agree on The Church. Their early 80's stuff is top shelf. Men at Work had a few good songs. Don't completely agree on AC/DC, but I've never been a real fan. Agree on INXS. Still consider 'Never Tear Us Apart' one of the best music videos of the decade. Can't comment on the rest. Was there a more impressive era for Aussies & Kiwis than than the early to mid 80's re. music and film? I doubt I could be convinced otherwise. They're the same band? TIL fellas.
The only Aussie bands I like or love without shame are Frente!, Silverchair and The Church. Angie Hart has a beautiful, silvery voice that can't be replicated. The surreal, moody and shadowy work of The Church can rival the best of bands like Gene Loves Jezebel (one of my all times). Silverchair in particular were better than Nirvana or any 'grunge' band they got lumped in with. Daniel Johns is a fantastic songwriter and vocalist, and the work he produced though he started so young and battling such sickness (intense anorexia) is impressive.
And I respect John Farnham as a singer & songwriter, too, especially for his performances in the early 90s Australian run of Jesus Christ Superstar. INXS weren't too bad either, pretty sexy and vampy (they did a good song for The Lost Boys film), but they had a formula and stuck to it.
Do secretly enjoy a bit of Savage Garden and Kylie & Dannii in my Cheesy Room/Kitchen Disco moments, but don't tell anyone. I know they're camp rubbish, but they are fun.
On the other hand: I loathe AC/DC, they're dog and they're for boring suburban people who never matured and developed an identity, or shan't. Wolfmother are just a shiter version of Fu Manchu or Audioslave, like Divinyls are a shite version of Concrete Blonde or The Bangles. Mental As Anything...who cares, John Hughes, blah, whatever. I won't even bother with Men At Work--did they ever do any other song? Probably didn't need to, am sure Land Down Under paid for all their houses and fair play to the cunts.
Brotherman I'm in the same boat. Hearing a single Puscifer song killed my preconceptions about the man. God that "band" fucking sucks.I liked Tool a lot as a kid. I even like the first A Perfect Circle album. I heard live APC and Tool from the last ten years and Maynard is really shit sounding now. He seems like a cunt too. Puscifer is retarded and a gay waste of everyone involves time. Nice Vineyard stupid.
