It seems pretty obvious Missy's mother was a terrible female role model, and her father didn't give her enough attention. She has no feminine wiles, and compensates for it with an obnoxious bad-bitch persona, which inevitably drives both men and friends away. She thinks her crude, edgy, brutish persona will attract male attention, and has no idea it will accomplish the exact opposite. This is how she wound up squandering what was left of her fading youth on a grotesque, 63 year old alcoholic cardiac patient who's openly disgusted by any woman over 18.
