I consider it one of the funniest moments in the history of stand up comedy and even I forgot until I saw something about his book.

That’s what I think, while he does get residuals from Seinfeld he’s pretty much been unable to do any work for almost 20 years. Julia Louis Dreyfus and Jason Alexander still were able to get plenty work all these years (they’ve both had their own shows - Jason’s were short lived) while also getting residuals. Same with the people from Friends - they lived good off residuals but still needed to work here and there.

I don’t think Michael Richards has even been able to do private signings / autograph conventions.
