I agree with you -- the assault and battery part should not have happened. But to get extra for saying stupid shit is wrong. Why? Because they only use this against Whites.
If a black slits your throat and calls you a stupid cracka while doing it, they won't consider that at his parole hearing 3 years from now and they'll let him off.
This is precisely why the McMichaels got sentenced with 400 years and James Fields got 700 years.

Blacks commit more violent crime, which is why they're represented more in prison. Whites get busted for drug crimes too, but because they aren't linked with violence they don't tend to serve much time if any. Regardless...
The only issue I care about in all of this is punishing someone for saying something while they commit a crime. The fact that this can happen in a country that supposedly has freedom of speech is not good. It will lead to someone saying, "He called me a nigger," during stuff like this, whether or not it's true, and the fact is there ought to be no extra time for words spoken during the commission of a crime.
