Holy shit, great point. I’m a couple years younger than Pat but in my 20s you could still smoke in bars and clubs (I think only casinos you can still smoke inside) and him never smoking while pretending to be an interesting drunk is hilarious. I used to only smoke when I drank and the fact that he didn’t even touch one while in a bar is great. I bet he was a smug prick whenever anybody asked him if he had a light. “No, I don’t have a light because I don’t smoke. It’s something I just don’t do”
